2012 FAQ

Q: How will I be affected by the Olympic Games 2012?

A: During the games your business may be affected by:

Congestion and the volume of spectators and visitors travelling to the live site at Hyde Park, travelling to and from Paddington (and the Heathrow Express) and enroute to their hotel accommodation or to the West End.

Temporary changes to local transport such as parking restrictions and road closures associated with the ORN and PRN.

Q: What should my business do to prepare for the games?

A: There are a number of key actions your business can take to be ready for 2012, starting now.

By being ready, we will create a Paddington that visitors and tourists will want to return to and enjoy year after year.

Plan your deliveries and ensure your suppliers have made sufficient arrangements. Ask your key suppliers such as your bed linen providers, your drinks agents and your office suppliers for their Olympic Plans. Do they travel in through the areas most affected north of Marble Arch (A40 from Westbourne Park Road to Great Portland Street, Lisson Grove, Park Road, Baker Street, Gloucester Place and Seymour Street.)

Apply to stock Olympic souvenirs and products by visiting the 2012 Olympic shop in Paddington Station to see which items may sell well in your business and write to retail.enquiries@london2012.com.
These items will draw customers into your business.

Talk to your staff to see if they can use alternative, less busy routes to travel to work. Use the information available on www.inpaddington.com to learn more and plan correctly.

Attend one of our hotelier concierge events planned in the next few months, to hear more about how Paddington will be affected and what information your guests and customers might need during the Olympics. To register your place call 020 3145 1213 or email ann_hunter@inpaddington.com.
