Come on a tour around Paddington to find out how the area has evolved from being a rural settlement to its present-day form in just 200 years! See how the coming of the canal and railway affected the way of life here, brought in the ‘navvies’, developed housing for both the rich and poor, as well as hospitals, schools and churches as the population spiralled during the 19th century. Learn about the intricacies of ‘Upstairs/Downstairs’ life and how master and servant lived side by side yet lead such different lives.
